Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the post-apocalyptic horror film Bird Box: Barcelona, ​​a spin-off of the 2018 film Bird Box starring Sandra Bullock. In a tense video, they showed a world in which it is dangerous to see.

Bird Box is based on the novel of the same name by Josh Malerman. According to the plot, the apocalypse happens because of mysterious creatures that arrive on Earth. Every person who sees a sinister entity goes crazy and commits suicide. Survivors have to navigate the deserted cities blindfolded.

Set in the United States, Bird Box focuses on single mother Malory (Bullock) and her two children. The heroes go on a big journey to find a new safe place. The spin-off “Bird Box: Barcelona” will, logically, show the apocalypse in Barcelona, ​​Spain. At the same time, Netflix is ​​going to shoot even more spin-offs – about how the end of the world was met in other countries.

There was also a synopsis for the film “Birdbox: Barcelona”. The new horror film will tell the story of a man named Sebastian and his daughter Anna, played by Mario Casas (The Invisible Guest) and Alejandra Howard (The Apparition, 2020). Also in the description of the plot, it was hinted that the heroes will face human enemies:

“A mysterious force is destroying part of the world’s population, forcing everyone who sees it to take their own lives. Sebastian and his young daughter Anna must embark on their own survival journey through the deserted streets of Barcelona. They forge an uneasy alliance with other survivors and make their way to safety, but an even more sinister threat than the unseen creatures emerges.”
