Johnny Depp became Louis XV in the first frame of the film “Jeanne Dubarry”
The network has the first frame from the upcoming romantic drama “Jeanne Dubarry”. The picture showed Johnny Depp as King Louis XV of France, who ruled the country from 1715 to 1774.
According to Variety, the filming of Jeanne Dubarry started at the end of July in Paris. The focus will be on the king’s favorite Jeanne Dubarry, who will be played by the French actress Maiwenn (“The Fifth Element”, “Leon”). Maiwenn will also direct and write. Maiwenn has previously directed films such as My King and DNA.
In the story, a working-class girl named Zhanna decides to use her intelligence and charm to climb the social ladder and become an important person in society. The heroine seeks the attention of King Louis XV himself, who falls in love with the girl. The relationship between Jeanne and Louis can lead to a major scandal, but this does not frighten the heroine – she eventually moves to Versailles.

Jeanne DuBarry will be Johnny Depp’s first major project since the actor won a libel case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. The litigation ended in June. It will also be Depp’s first film since the 2020s The Great, in which he played photojournalist William, Eugene Smith.
Fans of Johnny Depp are hoping that after the actor’s victory in court, Disney will invite him to reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. In June, it became known that perhaps Depp would indeed return to the pirate franchise.
The cast of Jeanne Dubarry also includes Benjamin Laverne, Pierre Richard, Melville Poupon, Noemie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory, and India Hare. Since filming has already started, the premiere should not be expected until 2023.
