JBuds Mini and Hybrid Epic Air Lab Edition by JLab
By the beginning of 2023, JLab has prepared (and already presented at CES) two models of headphones that claim to be recorded: the smallest (both in the JLab catalog and in the world) and at the same time budget JBuds Mini and the first JLab headphones with hybrid emitters Epic Air Lab Edition. In addition, taking advantage of the recent easing of the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration, eng.), JLab offered 2 models of hearing aids at once – those that are now allowed in the US to be dispensed without a prescription. Many headphone manufacturers are now rushing into this freshly opened market niche.
But back to JLab’s TWS innovations. The first of them, the JBuds Mini, is quite tiny: the headphones are located in a charging keychain case (even with a ring) and, despite their size, cover the “basic needs” of the owner of truly wireless headphones. Including – six hours of listening without recharging (or 20 hours including the case).
The older model, the Epic Air Lab Edition, is JLab’s first hybrid wireless headphones with two drivers: a 10mm driver and a rebar. This is the oldest model in the company’s catalog, in which, according to the developers, they managed to achieve the purest and most detailed sound. Benefits include noise cancellation with ambient sound mode, touch controls, Bluetooth multipoint, and a USB-C dongle that streams PC audio over Bluetooth LE using the LC3 codec. Using the charging case, the Epic Air Lab Edition will last just under 60 hours.
The prices of the new JLab products are already known: in the US, the JBuds Mini costs $40, and the Epic Air Lab Edition costs $200.
