Chris Pratt hints that after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 he will return to the role of Star-Lord in new Marvel films
There will be other members on Peter Quill’s team.
Film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 3 will complete the story of the current line-up of the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, Chris Pratt has stated that he may return to the role of Star-Lord/Peter Quill in future MCU projects.
Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista confirmed that after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 3″ they will leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Director and screenwriter James Gunn will also say goodbye to Marvel Studios and focus on DC movies and TV shows as head of DC Studios. The first reviews of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 3″ hinted that the movie comic will complete the stories of Rocket and Nebula (Karen Gillan).
Fans might assume that none of the original Guardians of the Galaxy will return in the new Marvel pictures. However, Chris Pratt told GamesRadar that he would be happy to play Peter again – but only if Marvel Studios comes up with a good story for the character:
“It would be strange to continue the story of Peter without James. He did a masterful job in the first three films. We really found the voice of Peter Quill, and without him obviously I never would have had this opportunity. He wrote the story, he directed it, he chose the music, it’s his imagination on the screen. To continue telling the story, it’s really important to pay homage to what he did in the first three films, what the fans loved about the character, and not just do it because the audience will be able to pay to see it.”
Pratt stressed that he would reprise the role of Peter if the return of the hero made sense in the story. According to the actor, it is necessary to carefully consider the possibility of including Peter in the plot of certain films.
If Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 4″ and will be, then new heroes will enter Peter’s team. It is possible that Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot, Kraglin Obfonteri (Sean Gunn) and Cosmo will remain Guardians since the possible departure of heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not reported.
The world premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Part 3 is scheduled for May 5th.
