Beyoncé and Jay-Z may release another collaborative album
Beyoncé may release two sequels to the Renaissance album – and one of them will be recorded with Jay-Z. This was reported by Kyle Buchanan, a journalist for the New York Times.
In his Twitter account, Buchanan wrote that the “Renaissance” project is a trilogy, and two more records are waiting for us. One of them will be acoustic, and the second will be a collaboration between Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The album “Renaissance” was released on July 29 and became Beyoncé’s first studio work in six years. It performed well on the charts, was liked by critics, and brought the singer eight Grammy nominations at once, including Album of the Year. At the same time, the promo campaign for “Renaissance” was minimal, none of the songs has yet received an official video, even the lead single “Break My Soul”.
Hints of a large-scale project appeared immediately: “Renaissance” was announced in June, and even then it had the subtitle “Act 1”. The idea of three different albums is interesting and understandable at the same time: the first «Renaissance» is a dance one, and after it it is logical to release a calmer acoustic release. A joint record is also a natural decision: the pair of Beyoncé and Jay-Z has long acquired cult status. In 2018, they released the album “Everything Is Love”, which was critically acclaimed and won a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. It was released under the common pseudonym The Carters (Carters): the real name of Jay-Z is Sean Carter.
The source of information is quite reliable – Kyle Buchanan can be trusted. It was he who in October first reported on two songs by Rihanna recorded for Black Panther 2 – “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again”. He did not name release dates for Beyoncé’s new works. But in August, Variety wrote that the second part of “Renaissance” should be released before Christmas, that is, before December 25th. So, perhaps one of the albums will be released before the end of 2022.
