All for the epic action scene of a train falling off a cliff.

Director and screenwriter of the spy thriller Mission: Impossible: Deadly Reckoning. Part 1 “Christopher McQuarrie stated that for the filming of the film he staged a wreck of a 70-ton train.

Details about filming the action scene with the train Christopher McQuarrie were shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The director admitted that it was his dream to create an epic scene with a train wreck. Tom Cruise, on the other hand, wanted to jump off a cliff on a motorcycle – which he eventually did :

“At the beginning of the film, I asked Tom: “What do you want to do?” He replied: “I want to jump off a cliff on a motorcycle. What do you want?” And I said, “I want to have a train wreck.” We’re big fans of Buster Keaton, John Frankenheimer, David Lean, all of those directors who at one time or another have filmed the incredible train wreck. I thought I deserved it, I want to destroy it too.”

Filming for the episode took place at Darlton Career in the UK in 2021A video was even posted on the Web in which the train rushes to a cliff and then flies down (the video can be viewed below). McQuarrie said that it took a lot of time and effort to prepare for filming.

Based on the movie “Mission: Impossible: Deadly Reckoning. Part 1 “Ethan Hunt (Cruz) will face a dangerous organization that owns biochemical weapons. He will fight the villains along with the new heroine of the series performed by Hayley Atwell (“The First Avenger”).

The world premiere of Mission: Impossible: Deadly Reckoning. Part 1 is scheduled for July 14th. The second part is expected on June 28, 2024.
