The Icelandic company Genki Instruments decided to continue producing unusual musical products. The company became popular thanks to the “ring” Wave – a compact MIDI controller. The other day Genki released a software synthesizer with the speaking name Cosmos.
The application received an unusual design in a space style. At first glance, Cosmos has little in common with the usual programs for editing and creating music. According to the developers, the main task in creating the product was to provide the opportunity to work in the program not only for professionals, but also for beginners.
It is worth noting that the space interface of a software synthesizer may be unusual even for experienced musicians. However, the firm emphasized ease of learning. Moreover, according to Genki, Cosmos has the advantage of being able to learn music software from scratch, discovering new use cases.
In terms of Cosmos parameters, the developers highlighted the following: 8-voice polyphony, custom filter, arpeggiator, LFO (thematically named UFO), reverb and echo effects. The synthesizer interface will allow you to create random sounds by changing the parameters using images of space bodies. The process is like a game.
At the start of sales, the cost of the new Cosmos software synthesizer was $70. The company will later raise the price to $140.
